Eigentlich sollte „Shattered Heart“ ein mit Liebeskummer durchtränktes Lied werden, entwickelte sich während des Schreibprozesses aber zu einer transformierende Reise der Heilung – spürbar in jeder Zeile des Textes.
Roosmarijn sagt selbst über ihre neue Single: „In the fragments of my shattered heart, I found so many different spaces, moments, and memories. They made me realize that I’m capable of loving deeply, even though it means accepting the risk of getting hurt from time to time. I want my heart to lead me to wherever it beats.“
